Philadelphia, PA

Owner:

Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA)

Engineer:

DMJM+Harris

Cost:

$89,346,400.00

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) awarded PKF a contract to reconstruct its  Elevated Guideway along Market Street, from 46th Street to 63rd Street in West Philadelphia, PA. The project required the up to 65-ton concrete and steel structures to be fabricated at an off-site facility, then transported to Philadelphia for construction. The demolition of the old steel structure and installation of the new concrete was performed through highly detailed weekend/week-long scheduled outages that were updated hourly.

PKF contributed substantially to the resolution of various program-wide design and constructability issues.
