PKF is proud to announce the recent promotions of Mitch Baland and Don Michell to Vice President and Chief Financial Manager, respectively.
Mitch Baland has been a staple of PKF's success for 35 years. Mr. Baland is a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He joined PKF in 1985 after working for an affiliate. After performing multiple engineering and supervisory roles, Mr. Baland was named PKF’s Chief Engineer responsible for Estimating in 1995. He was then promoted to a General Manager, where he helmed some of our more critical projects (including our current Scudder Falls Bridge Project). In addition to running projects, Mr. Baland also serves on PKF's Management Committee, and is Chair of our Big Pick Committee. As a Vice President, we know he will continue to contribute his knowledge, experience, and expertise in a way that helps shape our company's future.
Don Michell joined PKF in 2012 as Controller after 10 years in the construction industry. In addition to being promoted to Chief Financial Manager, he is an important member on various corporate committees, including PKF's Management Committee. Mr. Michell is a graduate from Marymount University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, and holds his Master's of Science in Professional Accounting from Strayer University. Mr. Michell is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP). Since joining PKF in 2012, he has contributed in varied roles, including supervision of accounting and IT functions, insurance and bonding, banking, equity structure, benefits, audit functions, business valuation, and other components of PKF's day-to-day internal operations. Mr. Michell recently led PKF in the successful conversion of our accounting and project management software to Viewpoint with an eye towards streamlining processes and pushing PKF towards the future.
We are very excited to see what continued growth and success they will bring to PKF - congratulations, and good luck!
